The highlight of the conference’s programming (for me) came on Day 3, when I got to sit front and center to see danah boyd present on social network sites. Always a brilliant thinker and speaker, she definitely wowed the audience, and got us fired up to defend user’s rights and work toward making tomorrow’s internet even more valuable.
After that I presented Crafting the User-Centered Library. I recorded myself in the session and have created a slidecast:
After my session, I had a great lunch with friends and spent the afternoon watching the Pecha Kucha session. As always, the conference was a blast, and seeing some of the leading thinkers in LibraryLand was a true delight. Thanks again everyone for a great conference, and I hope to see you all again soon!

I arrived a little late (and hating Delta and United Airlines) but I made it in time for the wine reception and to catch up with everyone at IL2008. After that, dinner, drinks and the noble art of karaoke. You will all be relieved that I did not sing, however that does not exclude me from appearing in evidence photos in the days to come. This afternoon I’ll be presenting “Solving the Interest Problem” with Kelly Czarnecki from ImaginOn, Public Library of Charlotte & Mecklenburg County. I’ll be wandering in between sessions today, so you can watch my twitter account for moment-to-moment updates.

I have now officially packed for 12 days on the road. From now until Monday I’ll be camping in the back woods of Alabama with my Pagan friends. Then I’m off to Internet Librarian 2008 in Monterey, CA, where I’ll be presenting twice. Then off to my sister’s in San Diego (this time sans forest fire) for a little R&R. So three very different trips are all packed into three small bags (one of which will stay in Alabama). I will have more detailed stories soon, I’m sure!
I’ve been doing lots of cool stuff at work, and I hope to be all rested up from my blogging sabbatical to tell you all about it! Here we go!
