The Firland Foundation provides meaningful employment for people with disabilities in a sheltered workshop producing high quality machined parts. Income from the workshop keeps it self-sustaining, and provides the resources for grant making. We fund grants directed toward research studies, clinical projects, educational programs, and advocacy efforts intended to improve the management and control of tuberculosis and other chronic respiratory diseases.

Reading the story in the Feb. 1 Library Hotline about you and your efforts to raise much-needed relief funds for Haiti almost overwhelmed me. Your example of heartfelt generosity inspired me to reach for my credit card and click through for a donation to be matched by the Firland Foundation. My husband and I have both donated already, but I couldn’t let this opportunity pass by without responding. Thank you for an inspirational lift on this snowy afternoon.

I was very moved to hear of your efforts for PIH. I cried along with you. Thank you for your wonderful example. I had already donated to PIH, but will donate again.
