Hey Library World! Check out our snazzy new webpage!!!
http://www.valdosta.edu/library/
I’m very pleased with this redesign, as it makes a lot more sense than the previous incarnation. It will be a great deal easier to teach how to use, as well–most of the resources the students are looking for are located on the front page, or one click away. This is much better than the 12-clicks-down they were having to go in the previous version.
Beware, however, that it is incomplete. We decided to go ahead and launch at the beginning of the semester while it’s still a little raw, so that we can get students acclimatized to it now (rather than wait until it’s picture perfect). We’re also taking this opportunity to update our handouts and informational webpages.
I’m thrilled to bits with our library web committee, who made a point of staying user-focused throughout the discussion of the redesign. I kept hearing them ask, “will this make sense to a freshman?” Wonderful!
Oh, and did I mention that we have a meebome widget at last? MUHAHAHAHA! The IMed questioned have already begun, with zero marketing!
The library-goodness has only begun…
